One of the best things I did in 2016 was signing up for BookBub’s email alerts. If you’re not familiar with BookBub, it’s basically just a free service that scans Amazon (or your ebook retailer of choice) for deals. You tell it which genres and authors you’re interested in, and you get a once-daily email listing all the heavily discounted (or even free!) books meeting your criteria.
As you might expect, the quality of these books wildly varies. Sometimes you can get really popular authors for free, or a bestseller will be taken down to $0.99 for one day only. Other times, you get what you pay for, and the freebies are literally the worst. Here are fifteen books that I got for free (either via BookBub alerts or through Amazon Prime’s Lending Library) and actually really enjoyed.
