Book tags: 3 Days, 3 Quotes [Day 3] + Taylor Swift!

this or that

It’s Day 3 of the 3 Days, 3 Quotes tag. (Thanks again to Shaz @ Shaz Reads. This tag was really fun!)

The Rules
1. Thank the person who nominated you
2. Post a quote for 3 consecutive days (1 quote for each day)
3. Nominate three new bloggers each day

The last quote I’m using is from The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. The Hating Game is one of my all-time favorite books — I just love how it takes place in the publishing world. I can’t help but agree with Lucy here:

Books were, and always would be, something a little magic and something to respect.

And that’s the end of the 3 Days, 3 Quotes tag! I hope you’ve enjoyed what I’ve shared and if you’re participating, I can’t wait to see what you post next!

I tag:

I never know who to tag, so…

  • If you’d rather not be tagged, let me know! (I don’t want to annoy you!)
  • If you like doing tags, drop me a comment and I’ll remember to tag you next time!

I just posted about how much I love Taylor Swift and now I’ve been tagged by Daniel @ Page to Page to do the Taylor Swift book tag! (Thank you!) Perfect timing! I had a lot of fun with this one.

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together: Pick a book or series that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with.

I’m going to say… The Mortal Instruments. I listened to the audiobooks forever ago and I actually really liked the first three… and then the fourth was terrible. The fifth was okay but I don’t really have any desire to read the sixth. Sometimes I find myself feeling a little tempted by her other series but then I remember what happened with this series and think, hmm, maybe not.

Red: Pick a book with a RED cover.

The most recent red cover I read was The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory. I loved the concept but not so much the way everything turned out.

The Best Day: Pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic.

A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray and Trickster’s Choice by Tamora Pierce always remind me of high school. I used to drive my best friend and we had many conversations about these books on the way to school. Those were the days. 💕

This is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things: Pick a book you feel shames its genre.

A thriller should never be slow and boring, but that’s what The Girl in the Spider’s Web was. I’m also a firm believer that a romance novel should never feature the male lead blatantly cheating on the heroine, but that’s exactly what happens in Axl... and it’s never even addressed.

I Knew You Were Trouble: Pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love.

I never finished the series so I’m not really sure what ends up happening with the character, but I loved the Darkling in Shadow and Bone. Also, Vicious doesn’t really have a hero since the main character is a total villain, but I still love Victor Vale.

Innocent: Pick a book that someone ruined the ending for.

Good morning to everyone except the jerk who spoiled the ending of A Conjuring of Light. IT’S NOT THAT HARD TO USE SPOILER TAGS ON GOODREADS.

Don’t Blame Me: Pick a popular book that you couldn’t finish.

I could not get into Norwegian Wood. I think the problem with American Gods was that I started it right before I moved across the country and by the time I got back to it, I couldn’t remember what was going on. I’m definitely planning to try American Gods again. Eventually. At some point. My TBR is six miles long.

You Belong With Me: Pick your most anticipated book release.

It’s gotta be What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera. I stand by my original statement that the cover is a work of art. I want to frame it and hang it in my bedroom.

Getaway Car: Pick a book with a badass main character.

The book is literally about superheroes and supervillains, so… Renegades by Marissa Meyer.

Come Back, Be Here: Pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much.

My signed copy of Starry Eyes is one of my most prized bookish possessions, so I don’t think I’ll be lending it out any time soon. (This cover is also a work of art, by the way.)

I’m tagging any Taylor Swift fans to do this one! I can’t wait to see your choices!

hehe so agree about TMI (and I love that question lol! 😉 ) And I love the Darkling and Victor Vale! Ah no that’s such a shame about conjuring of light!! And I couldn’t get into Norwegian Wood either- I did finish it, but didn’t especially enjoy it. Great answers!
