I saw this tag over at Thrice Read and it looked like so much fun that I had to do it!
1. Find a book for each of your initials
Seventh Heaven by Alice Hoffman
Kallocain by Karin Boye
Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
2. Count your age along your bookshelf – what book is it?
The 28th book on my shelf is (currently, until I reorganize again) In the Blood by Lisa Unger!
3. A book set in your city/country
Books that I’ve read:
- Krista & Becca Ritchie’s Addicted series, although it’s not an accurate depiction of the town at all
- The Quantum Labyrinth by Paul Halpern, which is set just down the street
On my TBR:
- Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger, which I know I have a copy of somewhere but have yet to find since I moved last April
(and now, with a slight bit of detective work, you all know where I live!!)
4. A book that represents a destination you’d love to travel to
Traveling stresses me out so much, but there are so many places I want to go!
South Korea: The Vegetarian by Han Kang (read in 2017, really freaked me out)
Portugal: Blindness by Jose Saramago (have not read)
Spain: Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes (read in 2010 I think?)
5. A book that’s your favorite color
- The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
- Love Scene, Take Two by Alex Evansley
- The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
6. Which book do you have the fondest memories of?
I have such fond memories of reading Pride and Prejudice with my best friend in high school. And then watching the BBC adaptation and the more famous one with Keira Knightley. (The BBC adaptation is far superior.)
7. Which book did you have the most difficulty reading?
Like, all-time hardest book to finish ever? Probably The Master and Margarita, which I read for a Russian lit class in college and I hated it so much. I’d still be bitter that I wasted my time on it if it hadn’t come up one night at pub trivia. (Which I used to do back in the good old days of 2012 when I actually had a social life… and actually got carded at bars… why am I so old now…)
8. Which book in your TBR pile will give you the biggest accomplishment when you finish it?
Probably The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson! I’ve been meaning to read it for years but it’s just so huge!!
I wasn’t actually tagged to do this, so I’m not going to turn around and tag anyone else either! But if you think this tag looks fun and you want to do it, please link back to me so I can see your answers!
Lovely post! I loved the color of The Kiss Quotient and The Hating Game 💖

I… just realized that Kiss Quotient and Hating Game have the same color cover. *Keanu Reeves whooaaa*
Way of Kings is great! I was daunted by its size too but it reads really quickly.

Isn’t it crazy?? They’re pretty similar styles too!
I’m so happy to hear that you liked it! I really need to read it soon!

I have seen so many people talk about The Way of Kings lately!! It’s huge but I wonder if 100 pages a day would make it seem less daunting. I’ve done that with GoT before. Anyways, I wonder if I need to add this to my TBR! Great post!

It’s one of my boyfriend’s favorite books! He doesn’t read a lot, but he read it over just a couple days. 100 pages a day definitely makes it sound less daunting!

Yeah, it’s a good way to not think hundreds of pages at a time!! I wonder if my husband would like it! It sounds like his type of book.

He’d probably like it if he likes epic fantasy! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a negative review of it.

He totally does. Maybe I’ll get it for him for Christmas (he won’t be studying then) and then I can borrow it. hahaha

Haha, that’s the perfect kind of present!

I love this tag! I’m totally going to be doing it on my blog. And I love the turquoise colour of those covers. There’s something so comforting about it.

What a fun tag! I might steal this!!!
Off to read the Quantum Labyrinth so I can stalk you! (LOL KIDDING). I don’t know if there are any fictional books based in my town, though there are many set nearby. I know there is a true crime novel set in this town! Ooooooh, the mystery….

You should! It was so fun!
Haha, The Quantum Labyrinth is a little dry for light stalking… Maybe try one of the others instead 😉
That’s cool (or is it??) that there’s a true crime novel set in your town!

It’s kinda cool. But not what happened. I live in a military town and there was a murder. I’ll leave the rest a mystery because I’m going to do this tag!

i might do this. it looks so much fun! how is addicted to you series? my mutual has tried to get me to read it.

I like the Addicted series. I would definitely recommend it but just know that it can get really angsty at times and since the whole plot of the series is the characters overcoming their addictions, it can be really frustrating to watch them make bad decisions over and over again. I absolutely LOVE the spinoff, the Calloway Sisters series! It’s a lot lighter and more fun, although it definitely still has conflict and drama.

I have the same favorite color, but maybe one degree more “bluish”.
The way of kings has been on my shelf for 2 years now and I have to read it before the end of the year! It is really an accomplishment.

Good luck with The Way of Kings! I’ve been saying I’m going to read it forever, so hopefully I’ll be able to cross it off my list by the end of the year too. 🙂

So cool how you found a book that’s set right down the street from you! I think I would freak out if I figured that out. That blue is one of my favourite colours too! And Portugal is on my top places list to go to as well, I would love to visit the Algarve 😍

My uncle actually gave me that book for Christmas and that’s one of the reasons why! (The other reason is he’s really into physics and so is my boyfriend, so he figured I should learn more about the physics happening here.)
Algarve looks amazing! 😍

I’ve heard Way of Kings is great, so I hope you love it! It really is kinda big (as are all Sanderson’s books lol 😂) but I also can’t wait to read it. And I actually haven’t read Pride and Prejudice, but I’ve watched the Keira Knightley version of the movie; I liked it, but I’ve heard many people say they enjoyed the BBC adaptation more too, so that’s on my list of things to check out. 😛

Thank you! And yeah, I’ve never heard a bad thing about The Way of Kings, but it’s more than 1000 pages! I’ve actually never read anything by Brandon Sanderson and I have so many of his books on my TBR. Hopefully I’ll at least get to The Way of Kings by the end of the year. 🙂
Oh, definitely watch the BBC version! Colin Firth makes an amazing Darcy. ❤
