WOULD YOU RATHER…
1. Rather read only a series or stand-alone books?
I think I’d rather read only standalones. Most of my favorites are standalones and I really only keep going in a series if I’m totally in love with the first book.
2. Rather read a book whose main character is male or female?
It doesn’t really matter that much to me, but I guess I would choose female if I had to pick.
3. Rather shop only at Barnes & Noble (or another actual bookstore) or Amazon?
I prefer to go to an actual bookstore so that I can look through the books, but this is also an actual disaster since I generally end up buying a bunch of books I hadn’t planned on getting. So generally I end up buying online because I can just buy the one exact book I’m looking for without being tempted by others.
4. Rather all books become movies or tv shows?
TV shows, I think. There’s more opportunity to show everything that happens in a TV show but a lot of things end up being cut out of a movie.
5. Rather read 5 pages per day or read 5 books per week?
5 books per week since that’s usually what I end up doing anyway.
6. Rather be a professional book reviewer or an author?
Professional book reviewer for sure! I don’t consider myself a writer at all.
7. Rather only read the same 20 books over and over or get to read a new book every 6 months?
I guess a new book every 6 months, provided that during the rest of the year, I would be able to re-read old favorites.
8. Rather be a librarian or own a bookstore?
I would love to be a librarian! I wish that I would’ve done a Library & Information Science degree instead of Linguistics!
9. Rather only read your favourite genre or your favourite author?
My favorite genre! My favorite authors would all fall under my favorite genre anyway.
10. Rather only read physical books or eBooks?
I think I’d have to go with ebooks, just for the space-saving capabilities. As someone who has moved 7 times in the last 10 years, I’m all about packing as few boxes as possible.
I’m tagging anybody who thinks this looks like fun! Feel free to also leave your choices in a comment! I’m on a plane right now but I’ll need something to do on the train ride home. 🙂
Great questions and answers! Not sure if I’d rather be a librarian or a bookstore owner – I like my own company so probably owner of a bookstore, as long as I can be surly to customers.

Thanks! And you can definitely be surly to customers if you’re the owner. 🙂

Then they might decide buying online is a better option. 😦 Hope you have a good journey! 🙂

I love this tag! I wanted to be a librarian so badly when I was a kid. I still don’t know why I didn’t pursue it, really. But I work in a museum so that’s a bit similar? Anyway, great post love x

Thank you! I don’t know why I didn’t pursue it either! Maybe someday. 😊

Ooh, very challenging questions! I’m with you on standalones, and I also only continue a series if I’m totally in love with the first book. And wow, 7 moves in 10 years? That is a lot of packing and unpacking!

To be fair, a lot of that was in college! I’ve moved much less frequently since I graduated. But still, all that packing and unpacking is forever cemented in my memory and I think about it whenever I buy something for myself!

Haha same! After moving once or twice, I’ve been thinking way more about what I buy and what a hassle it’ll be to pack and unpack the next time I move. 😂

I’m totally gonna do this! brb!

I would want to own a bookstore! I worked at a library for 5 years. I thought I wanted to get my MLS. It changed after my first year there! Lol! It was a good job… just a lot more stress than I thought it would be!

None of the libraries around here are ever hiring, but I definitely believe that it would be stressful! And I bet you would run a great bookstore!

Aww, thanks!! Yeah, it was insanely hard to get a job at the library, where I used to live. Now, in the big city, there’s 40 branches to the one system! So they are always hiring! Move here. haha!

I have two libraries nearby, but they’re both pretty small. (Especially my actual library, which is the tiniest thing I’ve ever seen.) I just might move there!!

Yeah, my last city had 5 and the one by me was soooooo small. It was more like a pickup holds type of place bc there wasn’t much inside. So I can relate! Yup, totally do it 😁

Ooh, linguistics sounds fancy! Aaaand you sound like a fellow gypsy. Moving books around is the WORST. And with how quickly I go through books, it’s way too easy to run out of shelf space. I think if I had a physical copy of every book I read, I’d have no living room.

Linguistics is such a fun major! Not particularly useful in real life, but so fun! I loved everything about the Linguistics program. 🙂
Most of my moves were in college, but I did move about a year and a half ago and even though I donated about half of my physical books to the library’s used bookstore, I still ended up having to move several boxes. I think there’s still a box of books somewhere that I didn’t unpack because I’m missing a bunch of books! (Another peril of moving.) I know that I have about 100 unread books on my Kindle and if you add to that all of the Kindle books I have read, I don’t think I’d have a living room either!!

I also wish I had majored in Library & Information Science! But hey, there’s still time…I think I’d like to own a bookstore more though… I know realistically it’d be stressful, but I could stock whatever I want and decorate it!

That’s true, there is still time! And that’s a good reason to choose a bookstore! You’d definitely have a lot more control over your own bookstore.

Question #7 stresses me out! One new book every 6 months… that’s 2 books per year?!??? And in between you’re just constantly re-reading? I don’t know, both options sound pretty sad to me 😦
I would love to be able to read books for a living. ❤

I know!! It’s the hardest question! But at least I sometimes get new books with the new book every 6 months option?
