It might have been difficult to pick my top three books from July, but since I hated most of what I read in August, it was a lot easier this time around. I only had two five-star ratings and three-four star ratings in the whole month! Fingers crossed that September will be better.

What were your favorites from August?
Have you read any of these books? What did you think?
Let me know in the comments!
I read Scythe this month as well and absolutely loved it! I am so excited to continue on with the series!

It was so good! I’m hoping that I’ll have time to read Thunderhead soon!

Scythe has been on my TBR for ages, but I keep waiting for the series to finish out so I can just binge it. (Same with Nevernight tbh!)

That sounds like a good plan! I can’t believe I still have to wait another year for Darkdawn!

Oh no, how awful that you hated most of what you read in August! I hate when that happens. But nice that you liked Scythe though! It’s up on my TBR and I already have a copy. My favourite from August was State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury

It was really frustrating, but fingers crossed that September will be better! And Scythe was so good, I would definitely recommend it. I hadn’t heard of State of Sorrow, but I just looked it up and it sounds really good!

I liked it so much more than I’d expected! 🙂

It sounds interesting but you would never see all the layers coming until you get into it. It is a very philosophical book and Thunderhead is even better than Sycthe!

I’m so excited for Thunderhead. Hopefully I’ll be able to read it soon!

You should be. Just make sure your walls have padding when you get close to the end. Lol

Is t sad that I think 2 5 star reviews would constitute as a good month? 😂. I need some better titles apparently. For me, Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys was probably my best read of the month.

Two five-star books was good, but eight one- and two-star books wasn’t so great. I haven’t read anything by Ruta Sepetys but I’ve heard great things about her books.

I can’t wait to hear what you think about The Witch Elm! And you really need to read all three of those books! (But especially Nevernight!!)

I, being the slow reader that I am, only read one book. Bookworm Nerd Fail, LoL. It was You by Caroline Kepnes in anticipation of the Lifetime series.

That’s okay though! Was it good?

It was a really great thriller. I just wrote about some of my favorite book to tv adaptions on my blog. The adaptation of You for a tv series is something I haven’t been this excited about since the adaptation of Big Little Lies. A definite recommend.
