Tag: The Lady Janies Book Tag!

It’s time for another tag! I was tagged for this one by Jess and Teagan! Thank you both and if you’re not following them, you’re missing out. Their blog is so great!

The Lady Janies Book Tag was created by Rebecca over at Bookishly Rebecca & Ellyn of Allonsythornraxx and it was created to coincide with the release of the Lady Jane books by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows, and Brodi Ashton.

Questions:

Jane Lynch: A favorite book featuring a character on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum:

I have so many favorite books that could fit this prompt! To name just a few: the entire Raven Cycle, Running With Lions, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, and Nevernight.

Lady Jane Grey: A short book that packed a punch:

This little book is only 63 pages, but I’m still thinking about it eight months later.

Jane Austen: Favorite heroine in a classic book:

This is the only prompt in this whole tag that I struggled with! I don’t read a ton of classics and the last classic I really enjoyed (The Catcher in the Rye) doesn’t have a heroine. Does We Have Always Lived in the Castle count as a classic and does Merricat count as a heroine? Because if not… I have no idea.

Jane Eyre: Your favorite retelling:

I really like retellings in general, but I loved all of the Lunar Chronicles.

Calamity Jane: Your most anticipated release:

WHAT IF IT’S US 😭😭😭 What even will be my answer to this question once this book comes out? I’m going to have to rethink my entire life.

Jane Fonda: A character who upholds feminist ideals:

Izzy O’Neill in The Exact Opposite of Okay. Izzy is just great in every way.

Jane Krakowski: An underrated book you wish more people would read:

Until the entire world has read it, I will always think that Starry Eyes is underrated.

The Lady Janies: Two or more authors you wish would write a book together:

This is always a question! I think Libba Bray and V.E. Schwab would be an interesting team. We’d get some really strong characters, a spooky vibe, and plenty of action.

This is such an interesting challenge. Thanks for tagging me! I’m gonna have fun with this.

Also, I just recently read Starry Eyes and it was quite good. I’m also tempted to start The Exact Opposite of Okay soon now! 🙂
