Happy Top Ten Tuesday! Today’s theme is fall TBR, so let me try to narrow down the 5,000 books I would like to read this fall to a more reasonable amount.
Three books I got at BookCon:
It’s kind of terrible that I’ve only read three of the many books that I got at BookCon back in June. So I’m putting it out there — I’m definitely reading these three this fall.
- November Road by Lou Berney
- Strange Fire by Tommy Wallach
- Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore
Three books I got from subscription boxes:
I am officially the worst at reading books that come from my subscription boxes. I have read so few of them, but you know what? I’m going to get caught up.
- The Queen’s Rising by Rebecca Ross
- The Book of Essie by Meghan MacLean Weir
- Ink, Iron, and Glass by Gwendolyn Clare
Some fantasy books that I’ve been meaning to read:
So, I realize that I bought two of these books at the beginning of July and still haven’t read them. I also realize that I’ve been planning to read Morning Star ever since I finished Golden Son… three years ago. It’s happening. It really is.
- The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
- The Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss
- Morning Star by Pierce Brown
And a book I won in a giveaway a long time ago!
I won this book in a giveaway several months ago. I keep meaning to read it, and then I get distracted by other books. Maybe if I put it on this list, I’ll actually read it.
- Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown
Did you do your own Top Ten Tuesday post today? Feel free to leave your link and I’ll check out your post! What are you planning to read this fall? Have you read any of these books? Let’s talk in the comments!
I’ll be interested to hear what you think of Morning Star. When I read it, the series was just a trilogy and I felt such a sense of completion with this one that I haven’t yet dived back in to the next two. The world of these books is so thoroughly and gorgeously constructed I found they were almost exhausting to read.

To be honest, I’m a little nervous about reading Morning Star! I loved the first two books in the series, but it’s been a couple years. Hopefully I’ll remember everything important.

That’s one big reason I’ve not returned to the series for the next two books. They’re extremely detail dense. I’m worried I won’t keep up.

I still need to read Morning Star too!!

I’ve been telling myself that I’m going to read it forever! Now that I actually own it, hopefully I’ll be reading it soon!

Haha same! I got it for my bday back in April, and still haven’t gotten to it yet!

Just butting in here to reiterate that you both *need* to read Morning Star. It is an amazing conclusion to the series and you won’t regret it!!!

I’m even more excited to read it now!!

Ahaha, I’m the same – I have quite a few books from boxes that I’ve not yet gotten around to…some from 2016, eep!
I LOVED The Queen’s Rising, so definitely recommend that! ❤

I’m so happy to hear that you liked it! And I have so many books that I haven’t read that I’ve owned for years. It’s my mission to read as many of them as I can by the end of the year!

I can’t wait to see what you think of Queen’s Rising. I’m kind of hoping for a sassy Sara review honestly! We had such mixed feels on that one!

Oh no! You know I love writing a sassy review, though, so I might be okay with not loving it.

I read The Book of Essie a few months ago and I really enjoyed it; the premise was very interesting. If you do a review, I look forward to reading it!

That’s great to hear! I was really intrigued by the premise and I’m looking forward to reading it. I’ll definitely be doing a review! 😊

The name of the wind might be my favourite book, but from what I’ve seen people have a very immidiate reaction to it one way or another, so excited to see what you think. I’ve been meaning to get to wild beauty as well

I’m telling myself that I’m going to love it! I’ve had so many people recommend it to me!
And Wild Beauty is one of those books that I’ve been telling myself I’m going to read next for months and I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

I’ve seen November Road around a lot lately and it has definitely caught my interest! Looks like a great list – I haven’t read ANY of these so I’m excited for these reviews so I can decide which ones to check out 😀 Happy Reading Sara! ❤

Thank you! Hopefully I’ll like these books! I hadn’t heard of November Road when I got it at BookCon, but I’ve seen it everywhere recently!

I hope you enjoy The Name of the Wind! I looooove the series and and have been waiting 5+ years for the conclusion (which I’m sure will be worth it…)

Thank you! And I’ve heard it’s been a long wait!

Wow awesome list!! I’ll be curious to know what you think of Strange Fire. I have it on my TBR also, but I don’t think any of my book buddies have read it so far. The Name of the Wind and Morning Star are another two books that I’ve owned for over a year now and haven’t gotten around to reading yet. Maybe in December? Haha.

Thank you! I don’t think I know anybody who’s read Strange Fire yet either. And I don’t know what it is about those books but it’s taking me forever to pick them up!

Same! I think I’m nervous I won’t like Name of the Wind, because so many of my friends seem to love it. Morning Star- I bought directly after I read Red Rising, but I had to order Golden Son,so by the time that came in I had already moved on. I’m reasonably convinced I’ll love it, I just haven’t picked it up yet. I also want to read Iron Gold!

I’m about 100% sure that I’ll love The Name of the Wind since so many people I trust have recommended it to me. It’s just actually picking it up that’s the issue! I almost started it the day that I got it, but then… I didn’t.
I have Iron Gold on my TBR too! But one step at a time! I’m not even going to think about buying it until I actually read Morning Star. 🙂

I loved name of the wind but it is A BIG book so I totally understand not having got around to reading it!

It’s definitely a big book, but I’m really looking forward to reading it! I feel like I should take a week off work so I’ll have the time to actually read it.

I’ve been getting OwlCrate boxes for nearly a year and I have read a grand total of one (1) book from their boxes. So I totally get it! (Unfortunately Wild Beauty is not that one (1) book but I’ve started it???)

I can relate… I’ve been getting a Book of the Month since January and have only just picked one up. (The Last Time I Lied, and I’m about 15 pages in.) I’ve also been getting Uppercase since January and have read exactly one book — A Conspiracy of Stars. There were, coincidentally, three months in a row where I’d already read the book I got, but those hardly count as successes.
Did you like the start of Wild Beauty?

I’m glad you feel the same 😂 I ADORED the start of Wild Beauty. I had to put it down at the time because I wasn’t in a position to dedicate as much attention to it that it deserved! It’s been on the top of my TBR since. (I still haven’t gotten to it, but anyway)

That’s good to hear! I have no idea when I’m going to get around to it, but it’s at the top of my list!
