Happy Top Ten Tuesday! Today’s theme is longest books I’ve ever read. Given the choice, I generally prefer shorter books to longer ones. It’s not that I have any problem reading long books, but I worry that I won’t like them and then I’ll be stuck with a thousand more pages of something that’s boring me. That said, here are ten books that I’ve read that are pretty darn long!
Later this month, I’m planning to read The Wise Man’s Fear, which clocks in at 994 pages and will definitely top this list.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling | 870 pages
Winter by Marissa Meyer | 827 pages
The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray | 819 pages
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling | 759 pages
Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer | 756 pages
The Temporal Void by Peter F. Hamilton | 736 pages
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling | 734 pages
The Evolutionary Void by Peter F. Hamilton | 672 pages
Some Kind of Perfect by Krista & Becca Ritchie | 664 pages
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss | 662 pages
Did you do your own Top Ten Tuesday post today? Feel free to leave your link and I’ll check out your post! Have you read any of these books? What’s the longest book you’ve read? Let’s talk in the comments!
I’ve read most of these, Harry Potter is my absolute favorite. I am also planning to read Winter soon. I have high hopes for this series as I only heard good things about it so far. Thanks for the share. 😊

Love the Harry Potter Books! The longest book for me that I can think of was Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, at 771 pages, Mississippi Blood by Greg Iles was also a long one for me at 704. But second of the two was much easier to read. 😊Fun post!

It’s in a series called Penn Cage. He is my favorite author!

I had no idea The Wise Man’s Fear was so long or I would have used it in my own post!! There was one bit in it that I wasn’t a huge fan of but I loved the rest of it so much it flew by – if only the wait for the third book would pass just as quickly 😭

I’m so exited to read The Wise Man’s Fear! Hopefully by the end of the month, and then I’ll join everyone in waiting impatiently for the third book.

Sara, I never realized HP books were so long. I enjoyed them so much that I never bothered to check the pages. I think for longer books, I would love a physical copy

I never realized that they were so long either! I can’t believe I read such long books when I was so young!

So many people have Order of the Phoenix as one of their top books! It’s mine too, but it makes me laugh to see it.

He really likes writing long books! I don’t think I’ve read anything from him that’s less than 500 pages!

I would definitely include Harry Potter and Winter in my list! I’m not too sure what the others would be! Some long books feel like short ones and some short feel like they will never end 😛

That is very true! I was surprised that some of these were so long since they definitely didn’t feel like it.

Well I gather then that once you start a book you do finish it? I have reached the age where time is too valuable and if I don’t like a book no point in continuing…it’s much better!

I do usually finish books that I start, but I’m getting better about setting them aside if I’m really hating them.

The Stand is really King’s best book and well worth the time. The book It is great if you want to be scared out of your socks and it’s almost 1200 pages. The Tommyknockers in nearly 1000 pages and, in my opinion, should never have been written. Lots of choices with Mr. King.
