I’ve seen this tag going around recently and I was so happy to see that Laura Beth had tagged me in it! Finally, an excuse to do it. 😀
a really hyped book you’re not interested in reading
I think I’ve seen too many mixed reviews of Caraval. I just have no interest in picking it up.
a series you won’t start/won’t be finishing
Red Queen was fine, I guess, but I didn’t care nearly enough to read the rest of the series.
a classic you’re not interested in
Honestly, I’m not interested in most classics. But War and Peace is 1392 pages and I just don’t care, so I think it’s pretty safe to say that I’ll never read it.
a genre you never read
There are very few genres that I’m not willing to try, but I think I can say with almost 100% certainty that I’ll never read nonfiction about sports. I just don’t care. At all.
a book on your shelves you’ll probably never actually read
Hmm. I tell myself that eventually I’m going to read everything that I own. Realistically, that’s probably not true. I won Meternity in a Goodreads giveaway about three years ago and I just can’t find the motivation to read it. It has terrible reviews and the premise (a woman pretending to be pregnant so she can take maternity leave) just makes me cringe.
I’m not tagging anyone in particular in this one, but if you want to steal it, please feel free! And please make sure to link back to this post so I can see your answers! What are some books you’re not interested in reading? Let’s talk in the comments!

Thanks for participating! I’m with you on several of these – I have no interest in War and Peace. And although Meternity sounds interesting, it’s definitely not high on my list.

Of course! I love tags!
I’m glad you agree with me on War and Peace. And Meternity is one of those books that I keep telling myself I’m going to read… but then again, it’s been years and I still haven’t picked it up.

Oh, this tag seems fun. With so many books out there, I feel regretful when I read a book for the sake of getting it done because I’m a book blogger.

You’re so right about that! I would love to get better about DNFing, but I always hold out hope that the book will get better.

I would do non-fiction sports before I would do a psychological thriller!

I’ve read a few psychological thrillers, but I definitely have to be in the right mood for it! (And preferably not home alone.)

Oh I live alone so there is no way I’m going near a psychological thriller!

I totally understand that!

Red Queen is so overrated!
I also have no interest in Caraval, has no appeal to me.

This looked like such a fun tag. I wouldn’t want to read war and peace either 😂

Just my opinion but you arent missing anything with red queen series. I started it and couldn’t even finish the first freaking book.

I’m glad to hear that you’re on my side! I didn’t hate the first book, but I definitely didn’t understand all the hype around it.

Haha, I’m glad you’re with me on that one! And you should definitely do it if you think it looks fun! 🙂

I’ve read Caraval and the whole Red Queen series… if you don’t already think you’d love them, you’re not missing much. I liked RQ a lot but its skippable.
Totally agree about sports nonfiction and War and Peace. That’s the kind of book I feel like I should have read… but it’s just not going to happen. 😦
Think I’ll steal this tag. Thanks!

That’s actually really great to hear! And sometimes I think I should read more classics just because I feel like I should… but I doubt I will.
I’d love to see your answers when you do the tag! 🙂

I read Red Queen and then didn’t bother finishing the series. While I did enjoy the read, I didn’t fall in love with it.
Caraval didn’t appeal to me either.

I’m glad you agree with me! I definitely didn’t hate Red Queen, but I didn’t see why it was so hyped either.

Oh but I love Caraval, and Legendary even more haha. No, but I totally understand. Every book is not for everyone! I totally agree with RQ. I made it through book 3, but don’t even care what happens in the finale, sorry not sorry. Also, that Meternity book does sound ridiculous.

Hmm, now I’m tempted to at least try Caraval! And I’ve heard such mixed reviews about the later books in the Red Queen series that I just don’t think it’ll ever happen.

Let me know if you do! I requested the final book on Netgalley and am crossing my fingers 🤞🏻🤞🏻. And totally agree on RQ .

I’m with you on Red Queen and probably Caraval (I still feel like I’m curious, but not enough to purchase it myself). A part of me thinks I might like to check out War & Peace if I ever have a lot of time on my hands and nothing else to read, but yeah. There are so many other books in the world and so little time!

You’re totally right — given a lot of time, I might pick up a book like War & Peace. I’d rather read the maybe fifteen other books I could get through in the time it would take me to finish that one, though. 🙂

Agree on Meternity. The idea of it makes my eyes roll.

I just don’t even know how something like that gets published!

I struggled through the entire Red Queen series in hopes it would get better… it didn’t. I’m with ya there!
Caraval is one I wasn’t too interested in based on the synopsis but it was on sale one day for kindle so I bought it. Maybe I’ll read it one day… Maybe.

I’ve heard that before about the Red Queen series! It’s so disappointing when that happens. And I hope that you end up liking Caraval if you decide to read it!

I’m not interested on reading Red Queen either. I’m not even interested on starting it. I sometimes consider giving it a chance when I see how cheap it is in local stores but I haven’t really heard any good things about it.

I didn’t hate Red Queen or anything, but I didn’t really see the point of it. It just felt like your standard YA dystopian book to me. I don’t really know how it got so much hype.

I read Caraval in January, and I do think it’s way to overhyped than it should be. Took me like 3/4 of the book before I got into it. I have legendary, debating whether to read it or just call it quits tbh.

That’s always such a dilemma! Thanks for letting me know that’s how you felt about Caraval, though, since it makes me feel better about not reading it. 🙂

I’m reading War and Peace. And it seems I will still be reading it for a while! My only complaint so far is it’s hard to keep the names straight: they are all Russian, and it’s impossible to bring with me (it’s like…a brick). A friend lent it to me, otherwise I would have uploaded it. I’m also reading The Count of Monte Cristo, in the original french. It’s surprisingly good. But for some strange reason I seem to have chosen books set in the Napoleonic era, not that that was my plan! I’ll be posting reviews…in a couple of years!

I hear ya on the ‘War and Peace’ one. I have a little bit of desire, just to see what it’s all about, but it’s never going to happen! Lol.
