Thank you to Laura Beth for tagging me in this very cute tag! As we all know, I’m all about romance (mostly online, although more recently, in my real life too). Without further ado, here’s the what’s on your heart tag. ❤
Here are the rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you to participate.
- Link back to the original post (Purple Rose’s & Dollfaced Writer’s)
- Attach an image that inspires you regarding the month’s theme (or use the original).
- Talk about what this month’s theme means to you.
- Answer the questions.
- Nominate 3 people to participate.
- Enjoy the rest of your month
What’s on my heart:
Without getting too sappy, what’s on my heart is how completely happy I am in my current relationship. I feel like Taylor Swift’s song “Begin Again” really describes everything that I’ve been through in the last year or so (or, let’s be honest, last several years), leading up to now.
This month’s questions:
Do you believe in love at first sight?
I think love at first sight is a tricky thing. It’s easy to be attracted to someone at first sight. It’s also possible to just click with someone the first time you talk to them. But love? I don’t think you can fall in love after just seeing someone. I need some good conversation and an actual connection for that to happen.
Do you believe in soulmates?
Absolutely. Sometimes you just find that one person that checks every box you didn’t even know you had.
What’s the first thing you notice about a person?
Their smile, I guess. You can tell a lot about a person from their smile and how genuine or fake it is.
What’s your ideal date?
Honestly, I just like spending time together. That said, my boyfriend and I went to get chocolate fondue recently and it was so great!
What traits do you look for in a friend/significant other?
Well. I guess I look for the same traits in both. I want someone who can make me laugh. Someone who legitimately cares about my well-being. I want someone who will treat me (and others!) with respect and stay loyal to me. And I want someone I can have fun with.
What are your thoughts on being friends with an ex?
I’ve only ever had one very dramatic breakup in my life, so I’m possibly not the best person to be asking this question. I don’t want to be friends with my ex for many reasons that I won’t get into on my blog, but one reason that I will share is that I don’t want him to feel that there’s a chance of us ever, ever, ever getting back together.
If you’re a believer, when did you give your heart to the Lord? If not, what in life keeps a bounce in your step?
You know, I went to 13 years of Catholic school. These days, I wouldn’t go so far as to say I’m an atheist, but maybe I’m kind of agnostic? I’m not really sure, but I do know that I only go to church for weddings, funerals, baptisms, and the occasional holiday if requested.
What keeps a bounce in my step is probably my belief that everything happens for a reason and that everything will work out in the end. I try to remain as optimistic as I can.
Bonus:
Here are some pictures of me and my boyfriend being cute. ❤

Ohhhh, this is so lovely!
“Begin Again” is such a great song and I know exactly what you mean. I got out of a years-and-years-long relationship in 2017 and for a while after that I was pretty convinced that love wouldn’t be a thing in my life… and now I have the sweetest boyfriend who even started a *book blog* with me! 💕
And I agree about the first thing you notice: gotta have a great, genuine smile 😀
Now I want chocolate fondue…
