I was looking for another weekly feature to add to my blog and was so excited when I found Theme Thursday! This week’s theme is time travel.
Theme Thursday is a new biweekly feature created by Sophie @ Blame Chocolate where bloggers can share recs and newly found books featuring that week’s theme.
- There will be a different theme (genre, trope, etc) every other Thursday. You can check the theme calendar here.
- Those participating have to list titles that feature that theme in some way (doesn’t have to be the main theme of the book).
- You can use the three main categories: Books I’ve Read/I’m Reading, Books I Want to Read, and Other Books That Fit The Theme but this isn’t mandatory.
- You can repeat books in different themes, if they apply, and choose as many as you want.
- You don’t have to take part every week! Just when you feel like it.
- You can use #BlameThemeThursday on Twitter and other social media to make TT posts easier to find.
- Finally, use this boxed text in your post, which doubles as a pingback. If you want, you can change the pingback link to that of that week’s post 🙂
- P.S.: Feel free to use my banners!

Kim, Leon and The Sky Path to Africa has time travel in it. I have been reading it today! Actually I am working to simplify it so that ESL readers and those with reading difficulties can also find joy in it. Finished the first draft just an hour ago! (The book itself was written by my late husband.)

There are some great books on this list! I always think I find time travel kind of annoying, but maybe that’s because I tend to think about the time travel in books I haven’t liked so much. I guess, like anything, it can be used really effectively or not.

It can definitely be tricky! Sometimes time travel can really make me roll my eyes. Other times, I think it really adds to the plot. It all depends on how it’s used.

I absolutely LOVE the idea of time travel, though I haven’t been able to read any books on the subject so far. I’ve had the Time Traveler’s Wife on my TBR for quite some time. Would you recommend that one? Miss Peregrine’s is a great one to add to this theme and is in my top 5 favorite series of all time.

I read The Time Traveler’s Wife at least a decade ago, but I remember really enjoying it! And I’m definitely looking forward to reading Miss Peregrine’s. 🙂

I love the concept of time travel, but I get SO picky with it in books and films and shows. I find that, a lot of the time, it doesn’t make sense. One of the FEW times I actually found time travel made sense was in The Flash TV show (for the most part). Maybe I’ll give some of these a chance!

Me too! I’m very particular about the way time travel works. I’ve never watched The Flash but maybe I’ll give it a try.

If you like DC and DC shows that actually reflect how the comics were, you’ll like this. There are OBVIOUSLY changes from the comics, but I love the “style”. It’s kinda cheesy but still good … rather than super dark and serious (the only one that should be like that in my opinion is Batman lol). it gives me that nostalgia of watching the cartoons as a kids 🙂

I love time travel novels. There’s a really good series by Jennifer Macaire about Alexander the Great. I highly recommend it if you enjoy romance/historical/time travel type novels. The Road to Alexander is book 1. 😊

Time Travel is definitely an interesting theme. I’ve read A Discovery of Witches and Miss Peregine’s so I can relate to both of those. I didn’t realize Landline had time travel in it! Thanks for this awesome list!

Thank you! And yes, it really surprised me, but I loved that book so much. 🙂

This is such a great idea for a new feature on your blog!! A Discovery of Witches has been on my TBR for years but I had no idea that it featured time travel 😱 I really need to bump it up on my list

Thank you! From what I remember, there isn’t a ton of time travel in the first book, but I was just talking to someone last weekend who was telling me it plays a bigger role in the later books.

I honestly love time travel books so much! I definitely need to read the Deborah Harkness one, because I’ve heard so much about it.

I read the first one years ago but I never finished the series. I’ve heard such great things about the rest of the series though!

I didn’t know this theme existed. It sounds awesome!
I have only read Discovery Of Witches but not the second book which is more time travel focused, I’m guessing. I almost got the second book after finishing Season one of the TV show.
Some of my favorite time travel books are Passenger (only the first book) by Alexandra Bracken and Transcendence by Shay Savage. I need to read more of them.

I’ve had Passenger on my TBR for a while so I’m happy to hear that you liked it! And I was just talking to someone last weekend about the time travel in Shadow of Night!

That’s the second book of A Discover of Witches, right? It has been in my TBR for awhile. I didn’t want to read it after I finished the first book but the show was so good in my opinion and I’ve been wanting to read it since I finished it.

Yes, that’s the second book. The woman I was talking to said it’s a great book!

I read Pivot Point a few years ago and I remember loving it. It was very different from anything I’d ever read before. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is a great series. It’s so creative and the pictures fit the story really well.

Oh yay, so happy you got to join this time! I changed things up a bit for this meme so now it’s monthly instead of biweekly (all info’s in the page, but I thought I’d let you know 🙂 I also changed the boxed text to reflect that.)
For some reason, pingback didn’t work and I didn’t get a notification your post existed… This has been happening a lot so not sure what went wrong. I always thought linking to pages worked well but apparently only if you link to a specific post? Not sure anymore.
Anyway, LOVE your extensive list of Time Travel books! I need to add them to my TBR asap. I had no idea Landline and Miss Peregrine’s had time travel in them! The only one Ive read from your list is Before I Fall, which I actually enjoyed quite a bit.
Again, awesome post and thanks for taking part in TT ^_^

Oh, thank you for letting me know! I scheduled a couple posts a while ago so I’ll go update them now. 🙂 And I’ve been having that problem with pings too. Sometimes I get them and sometimes I don’t.
I also really enjoyed Before I Fall! And I was surprised by the time travel aspect of Landline, but really enjoyed it. Miss Peregrine’s has been on my TBR for a while but I haven’t read it yet, but I’ve heard that it has time travel. Anyway, I hope you like both of those books if you get the chance to read them!
Also, thank you so much and thanks for coming up with great themes! 🙂

Oh, sorry about that!! I wish I’d made it monthly from the beginning… But most memes are posted weekly and that’s what I went with (until I figured it was a bit unsustainable 😅 )
Thank you! I hope to get even better themes soon – they were the first ones that came to mind and I wanted to start with the basics before moving on to more complex stuff 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed them so far! ❤
