Tag: Why Am I Weird

Back in July, Susan tagged me to do the Why Am I Weird tag. Thank you, Susan! Like 99% of the credit for this post goes to Daniel, who let me know why I’m weird.

Rules:

  • List ten weird things about yourself, your life, or silly habits that you wouldn’t normally share
  • Tag up to ten people so you can get to know them better
  • Link back to the person who tagged you and the creator
  • Comment on the posts of people you tagged – and feel free to comment on mine– I might regret that later but why not?

My ten weird(-ish) facts:

  1. I twitch a lot when I fall asleep, sometimes really violently.
  2. I really hate beer, especially hoppy beer. IPA is probably the kind I hate most.
  3. I have recently, as an adult, found out that I LOVE arcade games.
  4. Every morning, I text my best friend the first song I heard on the radio.
  5. I have no sense of direction whatsoever. If I could possibly get lost, I probably will.
  6. I love linguistics and could sit down and read about language acquisition for hours.
  7. I am very particular about my audiobooks, especially fiction. The voice has to be right or it just completely ruins it for me.
  8. Thanks to my job, I can rattle off the diagnosis code for a ton of medical conditions off the top of my head.
  9. I may have a bit of a greeting card buying addiction, even though I hardly send them anymore.
  10. I like my half and half with just a touch of coffee in it, just to take the edge off.

What makes you weird? Do you relate to any of my facts? Let’s talk in the comments!

YAY! I have gotten so many tags off of you! I’m so glad you did this one! It is fun. I think the twitching thing (from what I read because I do it and it scared me) is normal. Also you should so go into – well actually no you shouldn’t lol- but part of why I found working with struggling readers so amazing is because of everything I learned about how words work and etymology! This was fantastic to read!!! 🙂 OH! Also if you ever watch the movie Oscar- Tim Curry plays a linguistics professional- Dr. Poole- and is hysterical
