First things first, thanks to Jamsu for tagging me in this way back in September and Lori for tagging me way back in December! I am slowly making my way through my backlog of tags (I feel like I do this once every few months) and I cannot believe I’m this far behind! That said, I finished The Folk of the Air series not too long ago, so what better time to finally do this tag?
The Rules
- You must tag the original creator (Xandra @ Starry Sky Books)
- Spoilers galore! You should probably read The Cruel Prince first! (You don’t really need to read The Wicked King, but that would be nice.)
- Answer all the questions.
- Try to tag at least 3 other bloggers.
JUDE: A CHARACTER WHO WOULD PROBABLY KILL YOU IN YOUR SLEEP

I feel like several characters from Nevernight would happily kill you in your sleep.
CARDAN: A CHARACTER WHO SEEMS LIKE A BAD GUY™️ BUT IS ULTIMATELY MORE COMPLEX THAN YOU THOUGHT

Holland from A Darker Shade of Magic. I hated him at the beginning of the series but ended up just wanting to protect him by the end.
LOCKE: A CHARACTER (OR PLOT TWIST) THAT MADE YOU WANT TO THROW THE BOOK

I’m throwing it way back to 2013 for this one… Allegiant.
TARYN: A CHARACTER WHO DECEIVED YOU

Malcolm in The Secret Commonwealth. I thought he was a good guy and then some things happened and it turned out he maybe wasn’t. Spoilers are in my review.
VIVI: A BOOK THAT WAS SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHERS IN ITS SERIES

In Lumberjanes, Vol. 3, the art style dramatically changes and it’s super weird.
VALERIAN: A CHARACTER WHO JUST NEEDS TO DIE (OR, YOU KNOW, GET STABBED)
I… have no idea.
OAK: A SMOL™️ CHARACTER YOU WOULD PROTECT AT ALL COSTS

Both Nick and Charlie from Heartstopper. They definitely need to be protected.
THE CRUEL PRINCE: A BOOK THAT SURPRISED YOU WITH A TWIST

Maybe I should have seen the epilogue of Supernova coming, but I was surprised.
THE WICKED KING: A BOOK YOU THOUGHT WAS BETTER (OR WORSE) THAN THE FIRST IN THE SERIES

I did not like Wayward Son nearly as much as Carry On.
THE QUEEN OF NOTHING: A BOOK YOU’RE EXCITED FOR, BUT KNOW NOTHING ABOUT
Never Saw You Coming by Erin Hahn doesn’t have a cover, a release date, or even a particularly detailed synopsis, but I’m still excited to read it.

I’m tagging anybody who enjoyed The Folk of the Air series! What’s a book that you know nothing about but are still excited for? Who’s a character that you’d protect at all costs? Let’s talk in the comments!
