Top Ten Tuesday: Last ten books I abandoned

Happy Top Ten Tuesday! This week’s theme is last ten books I abandoned, and finally a topic that I can actually say something about! I don’t DNF or set aside a ton of books, but I have definitely abandoned my fair share in the last year or so.

The Sarington Necklace by Tammy Bradley

I’d tried to do The Sarington Necklace as a hate-read with my fiance, but it didn’t work. It just ended up being boring, and there were weird sections of French throughout. I haven’t written a review for this one yet and I’m honestly not sure if I will, just because we only made it a few pages in and I have nothing to say about it. I think we just stopped reading this in either February or March of 2020.

A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson

It pained me to abandon a Bryson book, but this one didn’t hold my interest at all. I DNFed this one in February 2020. You can read my DNF review here.

Release by Patrick Ness

Of all the books I’m including in today’s post, I feel the weirdest about Release. It’s true, I started it and I put it back away. But I really, really want to finish it at some point. I really enjoyed the last book I read by Ness and have high hopes for this one. I think I officially paused this one in January of 2020.

Trust Exercise by Susan Choi

Abandoned back in December 2019. You can see my DNF review here.

The Hero and the Hacktivist by Pippa Grant

Also abandoned in December 2019. You can see my DNF review here.

Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian

Another one abandoned in December 2019. The DNF review is here.

Wicked and the Wallflower by Sarah MacLean

I hadn’t realized I’d abandoned so many books in December of 2019! Goodness! Here’s the DNF review for this one.

First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones

Finally, one that isn’t from December 2019! I DNFed this one in November of 2019 and you can find the review here.

Ziggy, Stardust & Me by James Brandon

This was an ARC, and after slogging through it for what seemed like forever, I finally abandoned it in November of 2019. The review is here.

The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill

This is another one I DNFed in November 2019. It’s not that this book was bad, I just couldn’t get into it. My review is here.
