So, like three months ago, Bibi tagged me in the Game of Thrones Book Tag! As I’ve been saying lately, it took me a while… but I finally did it! Thank you for the tag, and sorry it took so long!
HOUSE LANNISTER: HEAR ME ROAR
NAME A BOOK THAT YOU ORIGINALLY LOVED, BUT UPON A RE-READ REALISED THAT IT WASN’T SO GREAT AFTER ALL.
I hardly ever re-read anything, so this doesn’t happen to me often! The only case of this that I can think of is the Mates, Dates series that I was so obsessed with in middle school. I picked up the first book for a re-read a couple years ago and cringed through it. It’s definitely not something you read once you’re a fully grown, full-fledged adult.
HOUSE STARK: WINTER IS COMING
NAME YOUR MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK RELEASE FOR 2019.
A bunch of my most anticipated books came out in the last couple weeks, but one I’m still really excited for that’s coming out later this year is The Story That Cannot Be Told! I haven’t read it yet, but I’m part of the blog tour and I’m really looking forward to sitting down to read this one.
HOUSE TARGARYEN: FIRE AND BLOOD
NAME A BOOK THAT YOU FELT COMPLETELY SLAYED WITH FANTASTIC CHARACTERS, PLOT, PACING, ETC.
If we’re talking about books that slayed me, I can’t really go wrong with choosing Love and Other Words. This book left me A MESS.
HOUSE BARATHEON: OURS IS THE FURY
NAME A BOOK THAT ENDED WITH A CLIFFHANGER ENDING THAT GENUINELY PISSED YOU OFF.
I love Saga, but come on. That was just rude.
HOUSE MARTELL: UNBOWED. UNBENT. UNBROKEN.
NAME A BOOK, OR BOOK SERIES, THAT’S BEEN ON YOUR TBR SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME.
Delirium is one of the first books I ever added to my Goodreads TBR, and if I’m honest, I’m probably not going to be reading it any time soon.
HOUSE BOLTON: OUR BLADES ARE SHARP
NAME THE MOST GRAPHIC OR DISTURBING BOOK THAT YOU’VE EVER READ.
You probably saw it coming: Troll.
HOUSE TYRELL: GROWING STRONG
NAME A BOOK OR BOOK SERIES, THAT GETS BETTER AND BETTER WITH EVERY RE-READ.
I’ve mentioned a ton of times how I don’t like to do re-reads, but one book that I actually re-read that enjoyed more the second time around was The Catcher in the Rye.
Since I’m three months late on this one, I’m not going to tag anybody, but if you think it looks fun and you want to do it, please feel free! Don’t forget to link back to me so I can see your choices. 🙂 Which cliffhanger upset you the most? What are some books that were better (or worse!) after a re-read? Let’s talk in the comments!
