  1. I recently drove all the way to Wisconsin from New Jersey with my boyfriend! We made stops in Pittsburgh, PA (where we had a great breakfast in a great diner) on the way there and Hammond, IN (where we literally just slept and left) on the way back.
  2. I went to Summerfest and saw both Billie Eilish and Bleachers perform on the same night. Both concerts were amazing, but I think Bleachers was my favorite.
  3. Next up on my TBR are Permanent Record by Mary H.K. Choi, The Lady Rogue by Jenn Bennett, and Comics for Choice edited by Hazel Newlevant, Whit Taylor, and O.K. Fox.
  4. I have a membership to a farm near my house and I’ve really been enjoying picking blueberries recently!
  5. Sometimes I overreact to little things, but I’m weirdly calm in a crisis. I’ll probably freak out and cry when it’s over, but while it’s happening, I’m 100% fine.
  6. I’ve decided to decorate my apartment with Ghüs from Saga! I bought some of the single issues of Saga with Ghüs on the cover and I want to frame them and hang them up in my living room.
  7. My neighbor randomly knocked on my door and asked if she could take a look at my floors while I was writing this post.

7 facts about me:

  1. I currently have a pile of four unread library books next to me: Famous In a Small Town by Emma Mills, My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren, Feminists Don’t Wear Pink and Other Lies by Scarlett Curtis, and You by Caroline Kepnes.
  2. My favorite store is Paper Source and even though it’s a drive to get there from my new apartment, I’m pretty sure I’ll still be there all the time.
  3. I love the taste of ginger. I love drinking ginger tea and my latest obsession is these ginger candies that my boyfriend gave me.
  4. I like to make homemade versions of anything that I possibly can. I’m not being as good about this as usual right now since I have a lot of stuff in boxes, but I really enjoy making homemade lip balm, homemade bath bombs, homemade moisturizers, things like that. I also love making things like homemade salsa, pasta sauce, and pickles!
  5. I write with my left hand but do just about everything else right-handed.
  6. When I was younger, I used to love to stay up as late as I could (in college, I was regularly up until 2:00 or later) and sleep in. Now that I’m an actual adult who has to be to work by 7:30 every morning, “staying up late” means going to bed around 11 and “sleeping in” is anything past 7:00.
  7. I love babies! One of my best friends is pregnant and I can’t wait to spoil her child with clothes and books and cuddles.

1. I love to bake and I recently made a chocolate cake that was so good that I was asked to move in with the recipient.

2. After approximately 25 years of thinking I hated them, I have recently discovered that I actually like horror movies.

3. I buy 90% of my clothes from Old Navy.

4. I have a godcat. His name is Jonas and he is the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life.

5. I recently had my first gin and tonic and I think it’s my new favorite drink.

6. I have a very Wisconsin accent and sometimes the automated phone systems can’t understand me.

7. The musician I have seen live the most times is Andrew McMahon. I think I’ve seen him five times. My favorite song of his is Last Straw.

7 things about me:

1. I have this new thing where I wander around my neighborhood at night listening to music and I highly recommend it. The only problem is sometimes I get distracted and then I find myself like two miles from home and it’s pitch black outside because, for some reason, my town doesn’t believe in street lights. (Luckily I live in a very safe place!)

2. I am currently in my natural habitat: sitting on my couch with a cat in my lap, drinking tea, and listening to an audiobook while writing a blog post. This is how you’ll find me most often, although sometimes I’ll be listening to music instead of an audiobook.

3. I think I’ve mentioned before that I really rarely drink alcohol. My coworker Suzanne has made it her mission to get me drunk and whenever it gets slow at work, she randomly shoots off a list of bars she wants to take me to. But she doesn’t actually know their names, so she’ll just say things like, “That bar… by that restaurant… ugh, it has a name that sounds like a pharmacy.” We’ve spent so much time together at work that I know exactly what she’s talking about! (Alchemist & Barrister.) This is my new favorite thing. It could be a game show.

4. When my best friend and I were in high school, we used to pass each other notes between classes that were solely written in song lyrics. It was the best thing, and we’ve recently started doing it again when we’re texting. (We live 1,000 miles apart now.) So now I find myself thinking in song lyrics sometimes. I have a lot of lyrics stockpiled for the right moment.

5. I hardly ever watch movies! I’ve only watched four so far this year, but I’ve loved all of them. In case you’re curious, the movies I’ve seen in 2018 are:

  • Love, Simon
  • To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
  • When We First Met
  • Coco

Oh, I suppose I also watched The Little Mermaid three times in one day with my boyfriend’s nephew, but I’m not sure that counts.

6. Speaking of this kid, he’s my favorite human. Yes, fact number six is that my favorite human is three years old. Nobody can put a smile on my face quite like him. He was born in the middle of a blizzard and it was a disaster and a half to get to the hospital, but so worth it. We’ve been best buddies ever since and he melts my heart every time I see him.

7. I’m from Wisconsin, which is like… the land of camping, football, and hunting. I have never gone camping, I hate football with a fiery burning passion, and I cannot even imagine going hunting. Honestly, I would probably cry if you put a gun in my hand and told me to shoot something. This is basically blasphemy in Wisconsin, so it’s probably a good thing that I moved.

7 things about me:

  1. When you major in Linguistics, you have to take a certain number of foreign language credits. I picked Spanish because I knew it would be useful, and then I picked up Portuguese for the heck of it. The language that I really wanted to learn was Icelandic, though! It’s not like I know anybody from Iceland or ever plan to visit there or that I would probably ever use it in my daily life, but I love how it sounds and Inní Mér Syngur Vitleysingur is a song that always makes me happy.
  2. I’ve mentioned before how traveling really stresses me out, but I’m actually usually fine once I get there. (And I tend to prefer road trips over flying.) Right now I’m talking about going to Tennessee with two different friends and I’m hoping at least one of these plans will work out. ❤
  3. There are currently 28 unread books just in my line of sight, please send help.
  4. It’s been six years, but I still can’t make it through the bridge of All Too Well without crying.
  5. I am a very big planner and everything I post is scheduled! I usually have all my posts planned out at least a month in advance. I’m all scheduled through mid-September right now.
  6. I don’t watch a lot of television (another reason I have so much time to read) but there are a couple shows that I watch! I love Riverdale, Bob’s Burgers, and The Good Place. I also love all of the iterations of Masterchef, but my favorite is Masterchef Junior. 🙂
  7. My job is super, super stressful! Who would’ve ever thought that sitting in the corner and billing insurance companies all day would be stressful, but it is!! Probably because I often have to fill in everywhere else in the office, but it is what it is. Anyway. The thing that makes me the happiest when I’m in the middle of a stressful day at work is people talking to me about books, so please keep surprising me with comments and tags! ❤
