  • I finally got a new phone, so that’s pretty exciting. Other than that, I barely left my apartment.

4 things this week:

  • Somehow, for being mostly contained to my apartment, I didn’t get nearly as much reading done as I’d expected. It’s weird to be home all day.
  • I passed my exam! I am so excited to have added another certification to my name, and I’m happy that I got the test in before the coronavirus restrictions went into effect.
  • Work from home has already been extended to at least April 13. It’s so weird not to talk to the people I normally talk to every day! (But it’s nice that I can get up 15 minutes before I want to punch in, pour a cup of coffee, and get started. It’s also nice that I’m not being exposed to 6,000 people’s germs.)
  • In case you missed it, I’m doing a giveaway! You just have to be following me. There are more details in my anniversary post, or if you just want to go straight to the Rafflecopter, you can click here.

4 things this week:

I haven’t had much news the last few weeks, but a lot has happened since my last weekly update!

  • First and most exciting, I am engaged!! I could not be happier about it. 🙂
  • Second, my fiance (it makes me smile every time I type or say that) and I took a quick trip to North Carolina this week and had a great time.
  • Third, I took my proctored test to see if I can get certified in doing my job. I think it went well, but results are delayed. I’m assuming this is because of coronavirus, but who actually knows.
  • And finally, my company announced on Friday that we’re all working from home for at least the next two weeks and I am 100% prepared to wake up late and work in my pajamas with a cat in my lap.

1 thing this week:

  • Well, as this posts, I will be driving to a five hour and forty minute proctored exam to become certified to do… the job I already have. I’m not too nervous about the exam, but not really looking forward to sitting in a locked room for so long. It will definitely be time to celebrate when it’s done!

Song of the week:

This is a sad song and I’m not sad, but I do love this whole album so much.

1 thing this week:

  • Not a lot happened this week aside from it somehow being the weekend again already? I don’t even know, but I feel like it was just last Saturday and it’s already Saturday again. I’m just ready to stay at home and relax.

Song of the week:

I’ve been in such a Bright Eyes mood lately. Fun fact: I used a line from this song as my senior quote in my high school yearbook.

1 thing this week:

  • We got approximately three snow flurries on Thursday, so my office building had a delayed opening on Friday and several people decided they’d rather work from home. So different from anywhere else I’ve lived. (Though, honestly, if I could do my current project from home, I might have taken the excuse to stay in my pajamas and pet my cat all day.)

5 things this week:

It’s been a week. I’ll start with the good.

  • New York was great! I always have such a great time when I go there, and there were things I didn’t even realize I’d missed about the east coast until I was back, like good bagels. I haven’t had a single good bagel since I moved to Tennessee. I had multiple good bagels in New York.
  • I met Ellen Hopkins?? Honestly, it all kind of seems like a dream or something, but it’s a thing that happened.
  • I saw the most amazing show while I was there, and I’m not even sure it should be called a “show” since it’s more like an experience, but if you’re ever in NYC, do yourself a favor and go see Then She Fell. It’s an immersive, interactive, spooky performance that combines Alice in Wonderland with Lewis Carroll’s life.
  • I also watched Taylor Swift’s documentary, Miss Americana, and it was so good that I wanted to cry. I just wanted to hug her.

And then the bad…

  • I, a person who never gets sick, was struck down by the flu two weeks ago and then struck down again by a different upper respiratory infection this week. It would be great if people could just… contain their germs. Is it really that hard? I can’t wait for the day when I can actually breathe again without triggering an awful coughing fit.
