Thanks to Siobhan for tagging me in the thank u, next book tag (way back in June!!). I really can’t believe that it took me so long to get to this one!
Name a book you said “thank u, next” to (a book you did not finish)
A book that I didn’t finish fairly recently (or, at least, over the summer) is A Week to Be Wicked. There wasn’t anything necessarily wrong with this book other than regency romance not really interesting me.
Name a book that taught you love (a book you loved)
I think my most recent five-star read was The One Hundred Nights of Hero!
Name a book that taught you patience
Any Tana French book teaches me patience. Her books have a really slow burn, but it’s all worth it in the end!
Name a book that taught you pain
I cried so many tears while reading Love and Other Words. So many.
Name a book that you loved at the time of reading, but in hindsight, you don’t like as much, though you still learned something from it
When I first read Red Rising, I thought it was completely amazing. 100% perfect. Basically flawless. Looking back, it’s not. Not that it’s the worst thing I’ve ever read or anything, but it’s definitely got its weak points.
Name a book you are currently talking to (have the hots for)
Name the book that gon’ last (the book that helped you love yourself a little bit more)
I could go with a few different choices for this one, but I think I’ll say You Asked for Perfect. I related to Ariel so much and saw so much of my younger self in him. When you’re a teenager, you kind of feel like nobody knows your struggles and everyone else is perfectly fine while you’re falling apart, so reading a book with a MC like Ariel made me, even as a grown adult, feel much better. I just wish books like this had existed when I was an actual young adult.
I’m almost three months late on this one, so I’m not going to tag anybody. But if you think this looks like fun, please do it and link back to me so that I can see your answers! What’s the last book you didn’t finish? Which book helped you love yourself more? Let’s talk in the comments!
